What About Joshua Gage?

“Joshua Gage finds the beauty of city creatures, the romance of a long-established relationship, the surprise of deer in the rush hour. Not one to linger in nature nor to begrudge someone a beer or cigarette, Gage gives us haiku straight up. His haiku are alive and breathing and allow us to breathe along with the poet. Through the smoke and broken urban landscape, you will find moments worth a deep breath of insight. ”
 – Randy Brooks Editor, Mayfly magazine
As an author of haiku, Joshua Gage has been published internationally. He is the author of the forty chorus poem "Deep Cleveland Lenten Blues," available as a chapbook from Deep Cleveland Press. He is a graduate of the Naropa University Low Residency MFA program in Creative Writing. He stomps around Cleveland in a purple bathrobe where he hosts the monthly Deep Cleveland Poetry hour, enjoys the beer at Brew Kettle, and collects Pendleton shirts.

“Joshua Gage's book breaths really fills the reader's lungs with a strong and memorable collection. The poet's range of subject matter is wide. His work is sensitive, creative, and fresh. ”
Stanford M. Forrester Editor of bottle rockets Past President of the Haiku Society of America

“The haiku in this collection draw me back again and again. Joshua Gage's images remain fresh, vibrant, and always accessible. His poems range from earthy to poignant to subtly humorous, with most as comfortable and inviting as a good friend's voice. Others are fearlessly edgy, yet irresistible. Fans will not be disappointed, and readers who have yet to experience this poet's work are in for a real treat. ”
