Praise for the music of Don Dixon |
“"… Don Dixon, who has found modest fame as a
producer for such acts as REM and the Smithereens, …
possesses two emotive bass instruments (one vocal, the other
stringed) and a songwriting talent for both the puckish and
the poignant.”
– The New Yorker
“Don Dixon's … lyrics sneak up on you, packing an
emotional wallop …”
– Larry Groce, host of NPR's
"Mountain Stage"
“emotions underlying the smart turns of phrase often
don't register their impact until a second or third listen.”
– Anthony DeCurtis - Contributing
Editor, Rolling Stone
“Don Dixon is undeniably one of the most important men in
the history of American alternative rock...great songwriting
full of pathos, anger, and shame."
